TEASER

EXT. ISLAND - BEACH - DAY

Sun opens her eyes. She is working with some flowers and watches Jin catch a fish. She hears Kate and Jack.

KATE
It's not like I'm asking you a personal question.

JACK
It is a personal question

KATE
You don't have to get all quiet on me. I just
want to know.

JACK
Well, you're not gonna know.

KATE
What's the big deal?

She is packing a backpack that Jack has on.

JACK
It's not a big deal. It's just something I did. I have
my reasons and I don't want to put it out there.

KATE
It's just that you and your tattoos don't add up. Are
you one of those hardcore spinal surgeons?

JACK
(laughs)
That's me. Hardcore.

CHARLIE
If you guys are finished verbally copulating, we should
get a move on. There's a whole beach of people waiting
for us to get some drinking water for them.

Charlie looks over to Locke, who's shaving with a hunting knife.

CHARLIE (cont'd)
And the great white hunter's getting restless.

JACK
Okay. Let's do this.

KATE
Hey, Charlie. Ask Jack about his tattoos.

Jack and Kate walk towards the forest.

CHARLIE
(to himself)
Oh. You guys have an inside joke. How absolutely
wonderful for you both.

Charlie follows the group. Sun looks back to Jin, who's smacking the fish on a piece of metal to kill it.

TIME CUT TO:

EXT. GARDEN PARTY - NIGHT

Sun is giggling with two other girls, all of them dolled up for the party. Jin, wearing a waiter's uniform, comes up and offers them champagne.

JIN
(in Korean)
[Miss? Would you like some champagne?]

Sun takes and glass and Jin offers to someone else.

JIN (cont'd)
[Champagne?]

EXT. GAZEBO - NIGHT - LATER

Sun is sitting and Jin approaches.

JIN
Miss?
(in Korean)
[You left something.]

SUN
(in Korean)
[Really? What?]

Jin goes up to her and kisses her, but she pulls away.

SUN (cont'd)
[My father?]

JIN
[He's busy being a host.]

SUN
[We need to get away. Now.]

JIN
[Where?]

SUN
[America.]

JIN
[Sun, look at me. I love you but I don't want
to elope with you.]

SUN
[It's the only chance we have.]

JIN
[Your father would never allow it.]

SUN
[It's not his place to allow. It's our decision.]

JIN
[I will talk to your father. I'll make him understand.]

SUN
[You're saying that now because you don't know my father.]

JIN
[I know me.]

Jin hands Sun a flower.

SUN
[It's beautiful.]

JIN
[I wish it were a diamond. Someday it will be.]

TIME CUT TO:

EXT. ISLAND - BEACH - PRESENT DAY

Jin throws something down and marches quickly to where Michael is.

SUN
(in Korean)
[What's the matter?]

Jin tackles Michael and starts punching him.

MICHAEL
Hey. Hey. What the –

WALT
Stop! Hey stop!

Jin pushes Walt away and continues punching Michael. He drags him to the water and tries to drown him.

WALT (cont'd)
Get off of him. Please. Stop! Get off of him. You're
gonna kill him! Stop him, please!

SUN
(in Korean)
[Husband!]

END OF TEASER

ACT ONE

EXT. ISLAND - BEACH - DAY

Right where we left off:

WALT
Stop! Hey, stop! Stop him, please. He's
gonna kill him.

Sayid and Sawyer run from the fuselage to the water. Sayid tackles Jin, and Sawyer helps Michael up.

SAYID
(to Sawyer)
The handcuffs from the sky marshal. Now.

Sawyer whips them out of his pocket and throws them to Sayid. Sayid cuffs Jin to a piece of the wreckage.

SAYID (cont'd)
(to Sun)
What happened?

EXT. ISLAND - FOREST - DAY

Jack and company are trekking through the woods.

JACK
Water's this way.

KATE
How'd you find this place?

JACK
Luck.

INT. ISLAND CAVES - DAY

JACK
This is it.

LOCKE
It's amazing.

CHARLIE
Absolutely.
(points to Locke)
It's totally you.
(re: the wreckage)
Hey guys. Shouldn't someone look through this stuff?
Could be something useful in here.

LOCKE
He's got a point.

CHARLIE
I do?

JACK
Yeah. Bring me your bottles. Keep an eye out for any
medical supplies, drugs in particular.

CHARLIE
Drugs. Right.

Charlie leaves the caves.

EXT. ISLAND - FOREST - DAY

Charlie is by himself and starts to pull out his heroin, but Locke sneaks up on him.

LOCKE
Don't move.

CHARLIE
Look. I was just gonna take –

LOCKE
Do...not...move.

JACK
What's going on?

LOCKE
Shh. He's standing on a beehive.

We see bees flying around. Charlie looks down.

CHARLIE
What's a beehive doing down there? Beehives are supposed
to be in trees.

JACK
What now?

LOCKE
If he moves, he'll split the hive.

CHARLIE
I don't like bees, okay? I have an irrational fear of bees.
I think I'm allergic to bees.

LOCKE
Please be quiet. We need to get something to seal the hive.

KATE
To cover it?

LOCKE
Yeah. Hurry.

EXT. ISLAND - BEACH - DAY

MICHAEL
(to Sayid)
I'm getting tired of saying this. I was just walking the
beach with my son. And all of a sudden this dude is all
up on me. I didn't do anything.

JIN
(in Korean)
[Shut up!]

SAYID
Surely there must be something you're not telling us.

MICHAEL
Surely? Where you from, man?

SAYID
Tikrit.
(pause)
Iraq.

MICHAEL
Okay. I don't know how it is in Iraq, but in the United
States of America where I'm from Korean people don't like
black people. You know that?

JIN
(in Korean)
[Stop lying.]

MICHAEL
So maybe you ought to talk to him!

SUN
(points to her wrist,
in Korean)
[It's because of the watch. The watch.]

SAYID
The cuffs stay on.

SAWYER
A little louder, Omar. Maybe then she'll understand you.

HURLEY
Guys. That Chinese due's gonna get pretty crispy out
here. How long you gonna keep him tied down like that?

SAYID
He tried to kill Michael. We all saw it. The cuffs
stay on until we know why.

MICHAEL
(to Walt)
Come on, man. Let's go.

TIME CUT TO:

EXT. LAWN - BRIDGE - DAY

Jin walks up to Sun as she's standing on the bridge.

SUN
(in Korean)
[What happened?]

JIN
(in Korean)
[Well...your father...your father gave permission.]

Sun hugs him and smiles.

SUN
[Don't ever do that again! How did you?]

JIN
[I reasoned with him. After a year of management
training and a year of work at the factory we'll
have all the money we need.]

SUN
[You are going to work for my father?]

JIN
[It's the right thing to do.]

SUN
[But darling, that is...]

JIN
[No, I have to. It's temporary.]

Jin pulls out a diamond engagement ring.

SUN
[You can't afford this.]

JIN
[I can now.]

Jin places the ring on Sun's finger.

TIME CUT TO:

EXT. ISLAND - FOREST - BEEHIVE - PRESENT DAY

Jack has a suitcase in his hands.

JACK
Okay. Just keep still, man. I'm gonna try
to cover the hive.

CHARLIE
This is the most crap idea ever. It's never
gonna work.

LOCKE
Pull yourself together, son.

CHARLIE
It wouldn't be an irrational fear of bees if I
could just pull myself together, would it?

Bees cover his face. He tries to smack one and the hive cracks.

CHARLIE (cont'd)
Ahh! No! Ahh!

The bees start swarming out and Charlie, Jack, Kate and Locke run for the caves. Kate and Jack pull off their shirts.

INT. ISLAND CAVES - DAY - CONTINUOUS

Kate takes a breath as the bees leave. She turns around and sees a skeleton, and she gasps.

END ACT ONE

ACT TWO

INT. ISLAND CAVES - DAY

Right where we left off. Jack comes up to the skeleton.

KATE
Who is he? How'd he get here?

JACK
Can't exactly perform an autopsy, but doesn't seem to
be any major trauma to the bones. There's another on
over here. Someone laid them to rest here.

KATE
Who?

JACK
I don't know.

KATE
Where'd they come from?

JACK
Didn't you guys shoot a polar bear last week?

KATE
Yeah.

JACK
Where'd that come from?

KATE
Any idea how long they've been here?

JACK
Long. It takes 40 or 50 years for clothing to degrade like this.

Jack pulls out a little satchel from the body.

KATE
What is it?

Jack drops two stones out into his hand – one white, one black. Locke and Charlie approach.

LOCKE
Hello! Anybody there?

Jack puts the stones away and out of sight. Charlie and Locke enter the caves.

LOCKE
Everyone all right?

JACK
A few stings aside.

CHARLIE
You two run away fantastically. Glad my diversion spared
you. I was only stung several hundred times. Oh, and uh,
someone left this.

Charlie hands Kate the shirt she dropped.

KATE
(sheepishly)
It was, uh, it was full of bees.

Kate grabs the shirt and puts it on.

CHARLIE
(smiles)
I'd have thought C's, actually.
(nobody laughs)
Sorry.
(sees the corpses)
Bloody hell. These are the people who were here before us?

LOCKE
What are you talking about?

CHARLIE
Oh, uh, just, you know, there could have been
people here before us, right?

LOCKE
Clearly. But who were these men?

JACK
Actually, one of them's female.

LOCKE
Our very own Adam and Eve.

EXT. ISLAND - BEACH - DAY - LATER

Sun is putting aloe on Jin's wrist.

JIN
(in Korean)
[What are you doing?]

SUN
(in Korean)
[Your skin is very raw.]

JIN
(in Korean)
[Be careful.]

TIME CUT TO:

INT. JIN & SUN'S APARTMENT - LIVING ROOM - DAY

Sun walks in and hears whimpering. She goes up to a box that doesn't have a lid and lifts out a puppy.

JIN
(in Korean)
[What do you think? Do you like?]

Sun smiles and pets the puppy.

JIN (cont'd)
[I've been working such long hours. I thought you might
enjoy the company. Of course you'll have to train it
and feed it. Are you okay?]

SUN
[Remember when all you had to give me was a flower?]

Jin's cell phone rings and he answers it.

JIN
[It's your father.]

He goes to another room to take the call.

TIME CUT TO:

INT. ISLAND CAVES - PRESENT DAY

Kate is packing water bottles.

LOCKE
I think one of us should stay and help Charlie
salvage the wreckage.

KATE
You offering?

LOCKE
Sure. Give me a chance to get to know him
a little better.

KATE
(to Jack)
We should move out. People are probably getting
thirsty. What?

JACK
46 people need to drink a half gallon a day each.
Carrying all this water back and forth is gonna
be a real pain in the ass.

KATE
You're starting to make me regret volunteering.

JACK
These caves make too good a shelter just to be used
for burial. Adam and Eve, they must have lived here.
Their plane crashed, or maybe they were shipwrecked.
They probably found this place and knew they could
survive here. Unlimited supply of fresh water. Tree
canopy keeps the temperature down, shields out the sun.
The openings are narrow, easier for protection against
predators. We don't need to bring the water to the people,
we need to bring the people to the water. I think we
could live here.

EXT. ISLAND - BEACH - DAY - LATER

Walt and Jin are looking at each other. Michael walks up to Walt.

MICHAEL
(to Walt)
Hey, what are you doing?
(to Jin)
You say something to my boy?

JIN
(in Korean)
[Piss off!]

MICHAEL
Yeah, nice talking to you, too. Let's move it, Walt.

WALT
How come he doesn't like us?

MICHAEL
What?

WALT
You said people like him don't like people like us.

MICHAEL
Oh, man. No, uh, that's – that's not true. And you
know what? I don't think like that anyway. I was –
I was angry.

WALT
What'd you do to him?

MICHAEL
What did I do to him? You tell me. I've been with you
since we crashed. Have you seen me doing anything to
anyone? What kind of man do you think I am anyway? What
did your mother say about me?

WALT
She never talked about you.

MICHAEL
You don't know anything about me, then, do you?

WALT
You don't know anything about me.

MICHAEL
I know a lot about you.

WALT
Yeah?

MICHAEL
Yeah.

WALT
When's my birthday?

MICHAEL
August 24. When's mine?
(Walt doesn't answer)
Forget it. Come on, man.

Sun is at Jin's side, pleading with him.

SUN
(in Korean)
[Honey, please, just le me go and explain this to them.
Maybe they'll let you go.]

JIN
[How will you explain? Your place is by my side. And we
will not explain ourselves to a thief.]

TIME CUT TO:

INT. JIN & SUN'S APARTMENT - NIGHT

Sun is resting on the couch with a grown dog with her. Jin comes in. His hands are bloody. He goes into the bathroom and starts to wash his hands. Sun follows him to the bathroom.

SUN
(in Korean)
[Are you all right? Please talk to me.]

Sun sees the blood on his hands.

SUN (cont'd)
[Are you hurt? What happened to you? What were you
doing? Whose blood is this? What were you doing?
What happened?]

JIN
[I was working.]

SUN
[Doing what? What do you do for my father? Look
at me. Answer me. Look at me.]

Jin tries to push her away and she slaps him across the face.

JIN
[I do whatever your father tells me. I do it for us.]

END ACT TWO

ACT THREE

EXT. ISLAND - FOREST - DAY

Kate and Jack are walking to the beach. Kate bends down to tie her shoelace.

KATE
You checking me out?

JACK
What?

KATE
There's no harm in it, I just –

JACK
Trust me. If I was checking you out, you'd know it.

KATE
Yeah, so then what were you thinking? Right now.

JACK
Well, I sure as hell wasn't thinking about that.

KATE
Don't stop to think. Just...tell me.

JACK
I was thinking that if we were living at the caves we
could build a dam around that spring so that everybody
could have fresh water and we could get the infirmary
off the beach. You think it's a bad idea?

KATE
No, no. It makes sense

JACK
But?

KATE
No but.

JACK
Good, because a lot of people are still hoping a rescue
boat's gonna show up. They're not thinking about their
own safety. We're gonna have a lot of convincing to do.

KATE
We? You still haven't convinced me yet.

INT. ISLAND CAVES - DAY

Charlie and Locke are going through the luggage/wreckage. Charlie makes his way to the forest to take a hit and Locke follows.

CHARLIE
You following me?

LOCKE
Yes.

CHARLIE
There's no need. I'm just going to the loo.

LOCKE
Is there something you want to tell me Charlie?

CHARLIE
I'm going to the loo.

LOCKE
It's dangerous out there. Until we get back to the
beach I'm not breaking line of sight with you.

CHARLIE
Bugger off!

Charlie turns to walk away.

LOCKE
I know who you are and I know what you're looking for.

Charlie turns back towards Locke, guiltily.

LOCKE (cont'd)
Driveshaft. You played bass.

CHARLIE
(smiles)
And guitar.

Locke walks back to the caves and Charlie follows.

CHARLIE (cont'd)
On a couple of tracks. You really heard of us?

LOCKE
Hey, just because I'm over 40 doesn't mean I'm deaf.
I have both your albums. Although I thought that your
self-titled debut was a much stronger effort than "Oil
Change". It's a shame what happened to the band. How
long since you played?

CHARLIE
My guitar? Uh, 8 days, 11 hours. Give or take

LOCKE
You miss it?
(Charlie nods)
Well, a lot of wreckage. It might still turn up.

CHARLIE
Undamaged? Still playable? I don't think so. I mean, I
wish, but there was this bloke at the counter made me check
it in. Yeah, wasn't enough room in the cabin. Fascist.

LOCKE
You will see it again.

CHARLIE
Oh, yeah? What makes you say that?

LOCKE
Because I have faith, Charlie.

EXT. ISLAND - HILL - DAY

Jack and Kate come out from the trees to see Sayid, who is chopping wood. They give Sayid water.

SAYID
It's about time. I am dying of thirst.

Sayid drinks, and then motions to Jin, who is still handcuffed to wreckage.

SAYID (cont'd)
I think I'll let him sit in the sun a while longer. Then
I'll take his wife aside, find some way to communicate.
I think she knows why he attacked Michael.

JACK
You sure you don't want me to talk to her?
(Sayid nods)
Okay. If you've got that under control, I'm gonna start
talking to people about the caves. Might be able to get a
few to go with me before nightfall. Start setting up camp.

SAYID
You serious?
(Jack nods)
Is there a reason you didn't consult us when you decided
to form your own civilization?

JACK
I'm only talking about moving into the valley.

SAYID
Well, what happened to "Live together, die alone"?

JACK
Digging in together is the only way we're gonna survive.

SAYID
Our best hope of survival is in being spotted by a plane
or a ship. And for that we need to organize everyone to
keep that signal fire burning while others scout the
island for supplies. Digging in anywhere else is suicide.

KATE
It is the only source of fresh water we've found, Sayid.

JACK
And staying on the beach, in the sun, without water,
that's not suicide?

Sayid grabs the chopped logs and axe and walks off.

SAYID
I'm not going to admit defeat.

EXT. ISLAND - BEACH - LATER

Michael watches Walt play with Vincent. He sees Jack start talking to people. Sayid comes up to Michael.

MICHAEL
Now what? I already gave you my statement, sheriff.

SAYID
I came to apologize. I shouldn't have been suspicious.
You were the victim in the attack this morning.

MICHAEL
I appreciate that, but I can tell you didn't come all
the way over here to say you're sorry.

SAYID
People are seriously considering following Jack to the
caves. I'd like to know where you stand.

MICHAEL
Right here. I got one priority right now and that's getting
my kid off this island. A boat passes, I'm not gonna be on
the hook for missing it.

SAYID
Good.

Later – Jack gives Jin a bottle of water.

JACK
Slowly. Just a little bit at a time.

JIN
(in Korean)
[Thank you.]

JACK
(to Hurley)
Glad you're coming.

HURLEY
Hey man. I go where the boar's at. So, what up with you and
Kate? You guys gonna move into a cave together, or what?

JACK
Sorry, am I in high school?

HURLEY
Well, that wasn't a denial.

JACK
Just get your stuff together. We gotta get out of here soon.

Another part of the beach – Sawyer walks up to Kate, who's sitting alone.

SAWYER
Well, well, well – if it ain't the belle of the ball. So,
what's it like having both the doctor and Captain Falafel
fighting over you?
(Kate smiles)
Just call 'em how I see 'em, freckles. Truth be told, I'm
not the only one wondering where you're gonna weigh in on
this whole moving off the beach thing. Are you going with the
pessimists or staying here and waiting for the rescue boats?

KATE
Are you going?

SAWYER
Well that's the real trick, isn't it? We all pack up
stakes for the caves, next day a plane passes by, they're
gonna go on their merry way and be none the wiser. On the
other hand – stay here, get eaten by boars, fall off a rock –
not gonna be anyone around to answer that 911 call.

KATE
You still haven't answered my question.

SAWYER
You didn't answer mine. And I asked first.

On another part of the beach Sun is sitting alone. She sees Michael walk by her into the forest.

EXT. ISLAND - FOREST - DAY

Michael is chopping wood. Sun approaches.

TIME CUT TO:

INT. JIN & SUN'S APARTMENT - DAY

Sun is there with an Interior Decorator.

DECORATOR
(in Korean)
[Your husband told me that money is no object to redecorate
this place. You're a very lucky wife.]

SUN
[Yes.]

Jin is on the couch and the dog is leaning up against him.

JIN
[Move the dog.]

Sun grabs the dog off the couch.

SUN
[Let's look at the apartment from the bedroom, shall we?]

INT. JIN & SUN'S APARTMENT - BEDROOM - DAY

DECORATOR
[Are you sure about this?]

SUN
[Yes.]

DECORATOR
[You've taken your lessons?]

SUN
[Yes.]

DECORATOR
[Do you realize that your husband and your father will
do everything they can to find you?]
(Sun nods)
[Are you sure you and your husband can't reconcile?]

SUN
(shakes her head)
[When I'm gone, will you care for my dog?]

The Decorator nods, grabs an envelope, takes out items and starts handing them to Sun.

DECORATOR
[During your trip, at the airport, at 11:15 you make an
excuse and walk out of the airport. Bring nothing! A
car will be waiting. For the first week your family will
assume you have been kidnapped. You will stay out of sight
until they come to think you are dead. After that you will
be free to move wherever you want. Now, tell me when.]

SUN
[The airport, 11:15.]

DECORATOR
[Again.]

SUN
[11:15, 11:15, 11:15, 11:15...]

TIME CUT TO:

EXT. ISLAND - FOREST - PRESENT DAY

Sun walks up to Michael.

MICHAEL
Ah, great. Look who came to chat.

SUN
(in English)
I need to talk to you.

Michael just stares at her in surprise.

END ACT THREE

ACT FOUR

EXT. ISLAND - FOREST - DAY

Right where we left off.

MICHAEL
You speak English?!

SUN
Yes.

MICHAEL
What – you speak English? Why didn't you say anything?

SUN
My husband doesn't know.

MICHAEL
Why would you learn English and not tell your husband?

SUN
He has a bad temper. What my husband did to you today –
it was a misunderstanding.

MICHAEL
No. I got it. Loud and clear.

SUN
It was the watch.

MICHAEL
Your husband tried to murder me for a watch? I found
this watch two days ago.

SUN
It belongs to my father. Protecting that watch is a
question of honor.

MICHAEL
You call trying to kill me in front of my kid "honor"?

SUN
You don't know my father. I need your help.

EXT. ISLAND - CAVES - DAY

Charlie is again trying to get some time alone to take a hit. He starts to dig it out of his pocket when Locke comes up to him.

CHARLIE
Listen to me, you old geek. I'm going in the jungle.
A man has a right to some privacy.

LOCKE
Just hand it to me.
(holds out his hand)
You're going to run out. My guess is sooner rather than
later. Painful detox is inevitable. Give it up now.
At least it'll be your choice.

CHARLIE
Don't talk to me like you know something about me.

LOCKE
I know a lot more about pain than you think. I don't
envy what you're facing, but I want to help.

Charlie starts to walk away.

LOCKE (cont'd)
Do you want your guitar?

Charlie walks back and nods.

LOCKE (cont'd)
More than your drug?

CHARLIE
More than you know.

LOCKE
What I know is that this island just might give you what you're
looking for, but you have to give the island something.

Charlie thinks for a minute and then hands Locke the heroin.

CHARLIE
You really think you can find my guitar?

LOCKE
Look up, Charlie.

CHARLIE
You're not going to ask me to pray or something.

LOCKE
I want you to look up.

Locke points up, and Charlie looks to where his finger is pointing. There on the side of a cliff face, suspended by tree roots, is a guitar case. They both laugh and Charlie almost starts to cry.

EXT. ISLAND - BEACH - DAY - LATER

Kate is sitting in the sand alone. Jack walks up.

JACK
Hey. It's almost time to go.

KATE
I don't want to be Eve.

JACK
No one's asking you to.

KATE
I just can't...dig in.

JACK
Why not? Someone else can stay here, keep a lookout,
wait for rescue. Why does it have to be you?

KATE
That's not it.

JACK
Then what is it?
(Kate doesn't answer)
Kate, how did you get to be this way? Just what is
it that you did?

KATE
You had your chance to know.

JACK
If you need me, you know where to find me.

Jack walks away.

KATE
(to herself)
You know where to find me, too.

On another part of the beach, Michael walks up to Jin with the axe in his hand, and gets in his face.

MICHAEL
I know you can't understand a word and normally I'm not the
talking-out-loud type. But since I have a captive audience,
I hope for your sake you pay attention. I'm not exactly having
the best month of my life. I barely know my son and now I
gotta be his daddy. And then to top it off I have a deranged
Korean guy trying to kill me. And for what?!
(he pulls the watch out of his pocket)
Look, I get it. It's the watch. Mine broke. I found this in the
wreckage and I figured, hey, why let a $20,000 watch go to waste?
Which is ridiculous, since time doesn't matter on a damn island!

Michael tosses the watch on Jin's chest and then chokes back on the axe.

MICHAEL (cont'd)
Son of a –

Michael swings the axe towards Jin. Jin flinches, but Michael only cuts handcuff chain from the wreckage it's attached to.

MICHAEL (cont'd)
Stay away from me and my kid.

TIME CUT TO:

INT. SYDNEY AIRPORT - DAY

We hear Jack at the counter, but the visual focus is on Jin in line a couple of people behind.

JACK
Sixteen hours I need to land at LAX and I need that coffin
to clear customs because there's gonna be a hearse waiting.
And I need that hearse...

Jack fades out as the camera pans around Jin to see Sun standing 20 feet away. She looks up at the clock. It's 11:15 and outside there is a car waiting. She looks at Jin and starts to walk towards the door to outside. She looks back again and Jin is holding a flower. She smiles and joins Jin in line. Jin gives her the flower.

JIN
(in Korean)
[Something wrong?]

SUN
(in Korean)
[It's too beautiful.]

Sun smells the flower and Jin kisses her forehead.

PA ANNOUNCER
Now boarding for Oceanic flight 125 nonstop to Singapore
leaving from gate 14. All ticketed passengers should be
aboard for imminent departure. Thank you.

TIME CUT TO:

EXT. ISLAND - BEACH - PRESENT DAY

Sun is trying not to cry at the memory.

END ACT FOUR

TAG

INT. ISLAND CAVES - NIGHT

Charlie is playing his guitar. Jack enters the caves, with a group of survivors following him inside.

JACK
Hello!

LOCKE
What's this?

JACK
New tenants.

JIN
(pointing, to Sun
in Korean)
[Let's go that way.]

HURLEY
Short walk. They lied.

Hurley puts on his discman, and we see and hear a musical montage (Willie Nelson, "Are You Sure"):

MUSIC
"Look around you, look down the bar from you"

View of Hurley sitting.

MUSIC
"At the faces that you see
Are you sure"

Jack is filling a water bottle.

MUSIC
"This is where you want to be?"
